RDCNepal seeks to counteract the negative factors that influence risk-taking behavior by focusing on interventions that reduce vulnerability to infection, including interventions that are informed by social learning theory, theories of gender and power, and cognitive behavioral theory. Communication is at the core of all of our behavior change activities. We have the firm determination that we can bring about a positive change in an individual and community through the careful intervention involving effective communication strategies.
- Human Rights and Gender Equality:
Its strategic objectives are based on Universal Declaration of Human rights and use them as a basis to determine its decisions and actions within the realm of local communities and nation of Nepal. Its programs encourage the participation of Nepalese men and women, irrespective of their political affiliation and ethnicity, in project selection, implementation and ownership. It operates in a way that is transparent to donors, community, participants and government. We have been in the forefront of advocating for women, promoting legal and policy reforms and gender-sensitive programs.
iii. Sustainability:
Through a comprehensive staff-training program RDC Nepal develops professional competence within seed multiplication, live stock production, income generation and enterprises. Through community organizations increased community participation will be developed during the next 5-10 years transferring selected project responsibilities from the organization to elected community committees. It is a long-term process, closely connected with overall community development processes.
- Capacity Building
RDC Nepal lays more emphasis on the capacity building of the community members and the Community-Based-Organizations. As giving people the tools and skills they need is crucial to solving problems, it develops and provides intensive, practical and effective training programs in the right hands.
- Participation:
In order to undertake humanitarian assistance programs, RDC Nepal requires that civil authorities and communities demonstrate their willingness to cooperate through the timely issuance of agreements, the adherence to those same agreements, appropriate contributions to each project, and participation in project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
- Community Partnership
Forming Productive Partnerships is the central idea of RDC Nepal. Realizing the greater significance of partnership with the public in finding lasting solutions to problems, it seeks to establish partnerships with local communities and its partnership with the local community works as a means of consultation to identify the concerns of each group and set priorities.
vii. Research and Evaluation
Research and Evaluation are the backbone of successful strategies and programs. With extensive expertise ranging from Behavioral Research and Surveys (BRS) to Rapid Needs Assessment (RNA) to program evaluation, RDC Nepal helps ensure that strategies and programs are firmly grounded in science and are effectively used as Life Improving Tools in the effort to sustainable development.
viii. Poverty Reduction:
Its program support reaches the most deprived, vulnerable and marginalized beneficiaries. Also it makes contribution and improvements in the life of the poor, serves as models, protect environmental resources and sustainable. It continues its presence in food security reconstruction, education and peace-building services provides the common rural and urban families with the hope to improve their living condition
